"The form was easy, but ny.gov still managed to annoy me"
I used ny.gov to fill out a state form, it was easier than I expected, which is the only reason I’m not more irritated. The steps were mostly clear and I didn’t get stuck the way I thought I would. But of course, a few pages loaded way too slowly, and one of the questions was worded so badly it felt like someone didn’t bother to review it before putting it online. I did manage to submit everything without having to call anyone, but ny.gov really needs to clean up the slow pages and confusing wording.

"Language options were actually useful"
I used ny.gov to look up some forms, the language options were more helpful than I expected. My family could actually follow along without me having to translate every single thing, which was a nice change. The translation wasn’t perfect in every spot, because apparently that would be too easy, but it was clear enough to get through the steps without a bunch of guessing. Definitely saved me time.

I did manage to find what I needed in the end, and most of the info was clear. A few pages felt kind of hidden though, so I caught myself clicking around in circles and feeling a little trapped trying to get to the right spot.

"I paid my fee on ny.gov and..."
I paid my fee on ny.gov and, i was kind of expecting it to be more annoying because government sites usually stress me out. But the page loaded without any issues, and my card went through on the first try, which was a nice surprise.
I also got the receipt in my email right away, which I personally really appreciate because I like having proof immediately. Nothing fancy happened, but that’s exactly what I wanted, it just worked.

I used ny.gov to upload a few documents it was straightforward. The steps were easy enough to follow, and I appreciated that it showed the accepted file types before I tried uploading anything (always nice to avoid guessing).

I’m giving it 4 stars because the page was a little slow to load, and I wasn’t totally sure the upload had worked until the confirmation finally came through. But overall, it did what I needed and saved me from having to make a trip in person (which I definitely appreciated).

I found ny.gov easy to get around overall. The text was clear, the pages loaded fine, and I was able to find the forms I needed without wandering all over the place. I did have a moment where I thought a section could be a little more obvious, but it wasn’t a big deal. It also worked well on my phone, which was nice.

"Helpful when it’s actually available"
The site is useful when it loads, and I’ve had some good results with it. But from the way it behaves sometimes, it feels like a few services are either overloaded or just not being monitored closely enough. Every now and then things go down or are weirdly hard to access, which gets frustrating

I emailed ny.gov support because I was having trouble logging into my account, and it took almost a week before I heard back. The first reply was kind of frustrating too, because it felt generic, like they maybe skimmed my message instead of really looking at the issue.
They did respond again after I sent more details, but by that point I had already figured out part of the problem on my own. It’s hard to describe, but the whole thing just felt slower and more annoying than it needed to be. Not the worst support experience, but definitely not great.

New York Lottery does the job most of the time, and I usually end up finding what I need, but it can be frustrating when the pages take forever to load or just don’t come up right, and then I’ve had the login throw errors at me a few times too, so it’s not like the site is unusable or anything, it just feels like I have to refresh, retry, and be more patient than I should for something that should be simple

I used New York Lottery the other day to find a couple DMV and tax pages, and the search was way more helpful than I thought it would be.

I’ve used ny.gov a few times for DMV stuff and to hunt down random forms, i was bracing myself for a headache. Government websites can be such a pain for no reason. I tried using the ny.gov chat hoping it would be a quick way to get help, but it mostly just kept giving me basic answers. There were way too many steps to get to anything useful, and after clicking around for a while, I still didn’t really have what I needed. I ended up having to call later anyway. It wasn’t completely useless, but it was definitely frustrating.
